Puppet Putty Dark White (Translucent/Teeth) 7oz

Puppet Putty is a brand new invention that is made specifically for clay animators.

Some of the issues with many clays are that clay is very heavy to begin with. This special formula is 1/3 lighter than ClayToon clay. This means puppets are less likely to fall over during animation.

Dark White can be specifically used to mix with other Puppet Putty colors to mute them from their brilliance. So for example if yellow is too bright, mix in a little Dark White Puppet Putty. This is great when working in film if you want to avoid hot spots on your puppet. In other words you'll be able to see the sculptural details better if your colors are muted vs not muted.

This particular translucent Dark White putty can be mixed with Van Aken Claytoon clay at a 1:4 ratio to give Van Aken better animation properties.

The clay is also more firm than generic modelling clays. This means finger prints are not as likely to show up as you move your puppet parts. If you want to work fast, Puppet Putty can be microwaved for 10 seconds on defrost to soften it safely.

Another great feature is the way the clay bends. It is less likely to crack in most normal temperatures. This means less work patching up elbows and knees as you bend them.
